Putting a bad name on PR's around the world...!

This news got to my email yesterday and as I read it this morning, over my coffee, I almost fell off my chair!!!

How did this happen?!?
Being a PR girl myself and even knowing the incredible pressure our work demands of us, I can't find any reasonable justification for such a mistake! Even though we all make mistakes, because we are humans, this is just beyond explanation and simply inexcusable!

I'm sorry Valentino's publicist, but you are just making us all look like a bunch of freeloaders who take advantage of any situation to sell a product! Shame on you... just tasteless!

"But the hubbub over Mr Wang's show was nothing to compare with the furore that erupted when a publicist for Valentino sent out a promotional email containing a picture of the actress Amy Adams attending Phillip Seymour Hoffman's wake holding a Valentino bag with the message, "We are please to announce Amy Adams carrying the Valentino Garavany [sic] Rockstud Duble [sic] bag from the Spring/ Summer 2014 collection on Feb. 6 in New York."
It was a clear case of celebrity credits gone mad and had insiders up in arms and shaking their heads in disbelief. Responding to the faux pas, Valentino releases a statement soon afterwards saying, "We regret releasing the photo of Amy Adams with a Valentino bag. Unaware of the circumstances it was a mistake and we apologize to Ms. Adams." But by that point, it was too late. The damage was already done."
