The Whole World and Me

A strong ad campaign from Aurore Association, a French Association that aims to professionally reintegrate people suffering from exclusion and/or insecurity.

By using a powerful icon of the French culture - Fashion, of course - Aurore showcases one of the major problems in France. Shock works well with these kind of campaigns because it starts a conversation, especially in social media. On this day and age we ought to use powerful images and powerful words to get attention in this information-overload-world...

Powerfull.

The best advertising is the one that is simple and to the point. For me, this is what makes it effective and brilliant.
Terre Des Femmes, a Swiss human rights organization focusing on gender equality and feminism, launched this amazing ad campaign that reminds us just how much judgement a woman suffers on a daily basis solely based on her clothes. Even though we are all, men and women, subject to judgement every time we leave our houses - society works by putting everyone in boxes and we are faced with each other and the need to categorize where the other belongs - women are simply and wrongly judged many times only by the way they dressed. And this judgement is coming from men and women alike. I do not see this ad campaign targeted to men, but to society in general.

So here's some food for thought... Next time you see a woman cross your way in the street or subway, try not to give in to the temptation to qualify her according to her outfit, there's always much more that we don't see.

I almost fell of my chair when I saw the Alexander Wang's "Parental Advisory" t-shirt on the runway. I want it so bad it should be illegal!!!! 

Now, with a complete set, background and mood, I don't want the t-shirt... I want to be that girl! I want to be the Wang Girl and girls, that's the secret of good advertising and great fashion, isn't it?

So clap, clap Mr. Wang for making this girl (and I'm sure a lot more all over the world) drool all over your collection! I'm pretty sure this shirt, and this collection, will fly from stores, windows and shelves! Great ad campaign!!! 

In the meantime, I continue to sight and whine for Spring... Are we there yet?!?!
