Serious Girl Crush going on with this girl!!!!

I looooooooooooooooooove her style, I love the pictures, I love her as an actress (she's amazing in Revenge) and did I mention I LOVE her style?

The style of this actress and blogger is casual, but always chic; she wears high brands with high street brands and she always suggests alternatives to the pieces she's wearing, which I feel it's the coolest and most adorable thing in this blog era we live in!

Also, her husband usually takes her pictures, which is the most adorable thing EVER!! I mean, don't we all want a husband who shares our madly interest in clothes, doesn't mind when we play dress up and is more than happy to take a million pictures so we can share our style?!?! Hands up please!!!!

So, Ashley, a.k.a. Ring My Bell, is now on top of my watch list, which basically means a daily morning visit to her blog looking for inspiration for my own outfits.

As you already know, I have a thing for skulls. So I was delighted when I stumbled upon the work of Tom French.

An english artist whose work is predominantly figurative, combining detailed photorealism with strong elements of abstraction and surrealism, very much present in the work below.

The "Skull Paintings" are a beautiful and enigmatic series of oil paintings that mix the real and unreal in a sophisticated way.

Basically this has been the definition of every day since last week.... busy, busier and the busiest! 

Unlike what usually happens when I'm in this vortexes of busy-busy - no time to think about myself, just basic survival functions on - these past days I've been so much inside my head I'm spinning! The good thing about being this busy is really not having time to think about how lonely we are or how fat we feel or whatever is bothering us in life, right? You do what you have to do, you try to remember to eat, and breathe!, and try to sleep!

Being busy and thinking about my life at the same time it's a complete nightmare and I find myself screaming for someone to save me!! Not a prince on a white horse, just someone with a fast car that can take me away!

Thank the heavens I'm going on holidays next week! I'm really tired and spent and in serious need of another air to breathe... So, what awaits me? 10 days of pure bliss.... well, not pure bliss as I'm going to be walking around like a crazy person, but I can't wait.... I'm going to TURKEY!!!! Yes, yes, yes! Rugs and silver, camels, beautiful landscapes and colors, an air balloon ride to see the sunrise, Troy... I mean, there's too much to describe! Nicky and I (you remember Nicky, right?) are super excited about this trip, we are going to be shooting like crazy ladies eheheh

And my phone... let me tell you something about my blackberry (since my baby iPhone is coming for our celebrated snapshots), the berry is staying at home, TOTALLY OFF! Ah! 

This is probably the reason why I'm so excited ahahah 

So this week I really don't know if I'll be able to write or post, and afterwards I will try as much as I can to do quick posts directly from Turkey. But one thing's for sure: when I come back, there will be a LOT of pictures posts and a more rested me in tha house ;)

Oh the glorious life of a single lady...

Let me tell you something about that life... it's not glorious at all!! Well, it has its moments of glory - having time for myself, thinking only about myself, very me, myself and I stuff - but when you get to that point when you are ready to see what's out there... oh the depression!!! 

I'm almost thirty, so at this point it seems like I only have two dating options:

Kids or divorced guys.
Ahahahah! I just feel like laughing because this is soooo sad!

I mean, between a guy who doesn't have enough baggage and one who has too much baggage, what is the best choice? Is it the lesser of two evils? Will I end up single with 40 cats?! It kinda seems like a big option...

I know... I'm being all dark and depressive right now, but this is just me venting after wetting my feet a little bit on the single's market.

I'm not really worried, because honestly I don't mind being single. But I do want some type of companionship, you know? Someone to go to dinner with or just for a walk,  someone to do stuff with, basically... 

Yes, I have wonderful friends who are available to do all these things with me (thank the heavens!!) but I do miss that look, you know? When someone looks at you with that desire, that... fire! I miss being wanted, I guess... Even if I don't want to share my bed with anyone soon, I want to feel that cold in my stomach, that feeling of being desired by someone...

Oh well... I guess this is just one of those days when I'm so tired I can't think happy thoughts! 

My new rule is: if you're down, let yourself be down, for a day! Just one day! Tomorrow is another day and I'm obliged to smile and try to be thankful and happy.

But for today... I'll stay a little sad and will listen to sad songs.

But don't you feel sorry for me or sad or anything like that! I'm fine, really, it's just a bad day...

Oh... that's right... I'm like TOTALLY BUSY AND FREAKING OUT!!!

One of my dear, dear friends is basically obsessed with this book. After hearing so much about it, quotes included, I decided it was high time I read it.

So far, so wonderful! 

It's such a moving "coming of age" book... it's endearing and sad, but happy at the same time, just like the hero of this story.

Reading it on the train has been a challenge, as I have been shedding a few tears with Charlie (the hero). But it's worth it, any book that can make me cry, it's worth it.

As a bonus, I discovered The Smiths and this song, which is key to the story :)

I highly recommend this book... and I will make sure my future teenage kids will read it, because I'm sure it will mean that much more!

If the movie is as good as its soundtrack, than I'm a happy, happy girl :)

Jack White goes all out with this song... Yes, Love is indeed Blindness and his voice, tone and music express exactly this hopelessness that is so characteristic of a LOVE like Daisy and Gatsby's.
